Commercial Heat Pumps
The real cost of the hot water we all use so freely, and largely take for granted, only becomes apparent when the bill comes in. Calorex have a range of heat pumps that can efficiently collect energy from the air to heat water, saving money over conventional systems. With increased demand for energy efficiency and reductions in CO2 emissions, heat pumps have never looked more attractive.
Typical applications
Hotels, Restaurants, Hospitals, Schools, any project with a regular demand for hot water.
The specific requirements can normally be broken down into one of three basic types of system:
Heat recovery for space cooling
Primary goal – to cool a space, typically for comfort or product storage
Secondary goal – reduce heating costs by reducing the load on boilers
- Waste heat is dissipated to hot water circuit
- No external condenser required
- Sized and controlled on space cooling demand
- Water heating stops when cooling demand satisfied
- Supplements existing heating to reduce costs
Heat recovery for hot water production
Primary goal – reduce heating costs by heating water with waste heat recovered from an overheated area which does not otherwise require cooling
- Waste energy is transformed into useful heat
- Hot water is produced
- Size and controlled on hot water usage
- Cooling stops when water temperature satisfied
Hot water production
Primary goal – to make available a supply of hot water
- Heat Pumps can produce water up to 70°C
- Hot water can be used directly or to pre-heat incoming water mains water
- Energy taken from ambient air
- Particularly suitable for warm climates
- Energy can be taken from an internal space to recover waste heat
- Size and controlled on hot water usage
The Calorex range:
AW250SC, AW 450SC
- The AW250/450 SC range consists of compact wall mounted air cooling units designed for use in beer cellars, kitchens and small hot water plant rooms, ie. heat recovery for space cooling or heat recovery for hot water production.
AW834H, AW1234H, AW1534H, AW3034H, AW7034H
- These units are floor standing machines requiring a three phase electrical supply, and are ideally suited to hot water production particularly in warm climates. They may also be considered for larger heat recovery for space cooling or heat recovery for hot water production applications.
