A Haven For......Comfortable Swimming
If the air quality in a swimming pool falls below acceptable standards, the situation can have potentially damaging commercial implications for holiday and leisure companies. That was certainly the view taken at Haven Holidays' Devon Cliffs Holiday Centre at Sandy Bay, near Exmouth in Devon. The Centre's existing swimming pool had operated on a total loss, full fresh air heating system fuelled by costly LP Gas. The heater was burning out, the system was becoming inefficient and expensive to run, and the structure of the building was running with condensed water, causing the steelwork to corrode. Clearly remedial steps had to be taken.
After investigating its options, Haven opted for heat pump technology. Heatrite Services had less than six weeks to complete the installation and commissioning of a Calorex HRD 30 heat pump dehumidifier to ensure that the facility was up to standard for the summer season.
